Riverdale Press: Candidate Meets and Greets

The Northwest Bronx Democratic Alliance held a campaign event last night for the political club’s two endorsed candidates.

Mark Levine, running for the 31st District state Senate seat, and Kathleen Rice, the front-runner in the state attorney general race, spoke to the crowd of more than 50 people gathered at Ibiza Lounge on West 242nd Street and Broadway.

They were introduced by Tony Cassino and Saul Scheinbach, both founding members of the club. Mr. Scheinbach is the current president of it. Brad Trebach, another founding member, was in attendance and said there were 70 people in all by the end of the night, which included a live jazz concert. Cori Worchel, co-president of the PS 24 Parent Association and Marvin Shelton, president of District 10’s Community Education Council, were also there.
